Flux7 Named Austin Company to Watch, Achieves AWS Security Competency
Every year Built in Austin compiles a list of 50 Austin, TX-based Startups to Watch in which they highlight local companies founded in the last five years that they think are poised to make a real impression. How do they define an impression? As companies that have “got the ideas, the talent and the tech to usher Austin’s startup ecosystem into new levels of success.” We are thrilled to be included in this year’s list.
In addition, Flux7 was named an AWS Security Competency Program partner. AWS Security Competency Partners have demonstrated success in building products and solutions on AWS to support customers in multiple areas, including: infrastructure security, policy management, identity management, security monitoring, vulnerability management, and data protection.
The AWS Security Competency aligns with Flux7’s focus on Security with Agility, in which we balance security with controls that don’t slow down the engineering teams’ work. This Security by Design approach allows us to build security in from the beginning–rather than as an afterthought–with security rules, processes and controls that are inherent to the system, not bolted on as an afterthought. If your infrastructure was not built with this approach, it can be remedied with an AWS cloud security assessment where weaknesses are identified and addressed with an action plan.
In 2017, Flux7 unveiled its patent-pending Enterprise DevOps Framework, in which AWS security plays an integral role. For enterprises like Rent-A-Center, we helped build a layered security approach, with inspectors that use automation to conduct security and audit checks, helping ensure system security as well as AWS PCI compliance.
For a digital financial services provider, we sought to balance security with agility to help it address growing demand from a new product. The company needed to make sure that the new product was highly available, while ensuring data security. We were able to help the firm achieve its Amazon cloud security goals by implementing infrastructure as code, tightening several security standards, and implementing a disaster recovery (DR) plan, resulting in a new product that is highly available and scalable, with developers able to easily add new features and functionality.
We are honored to work with some of the best names in business, helping them achieve their business goals through secure, agile systems. To be honored for this work is humbling and testament to the hard work of Flux7 cloud consultants in ensuring the success of our enterprise customers.
