Flux7 Press Release
Flux7 Named a Docker Authorized Consulting Partner
Partnership validates Flux7’s knowledge and leadership with Docker technology and implementations
October 20, 2015 – Austin, TX – Flux7, an award-winning IT consultancy that helps organizations improve business agility by migrating or optimizing cloud infrastructure, today announced recognition by Docker, the company behind the Docker open source platform and chief sponsor of the Docker ecosystem. Flux7 has been named a Docker Authorized Consulting Partner with Docker Accredited Consultants completing Docker’s certification course on “Docker Accelerator for CI Engagements”. Through this partnership, Flux7 will enable customers to have Docker implementations utilizing the most up-to-date and high-level knowledge of Docker. The recognition demonstrates Flux7’s continued commitment to the container technology, starting as one of the original eight Docker foundation partners, and a co-presenter at the inaugural Dockercon in 2014.
“Since we started working with Docker in 2013, it has proven to be highly effective in a variety of use cases, including building fast delivery pipelines, and a strategic tool in DevOps strategies,” said Aater Suleman, Flux7 CEO. “So far in 2015, our requests for Docker solutions are outpacing any other request we hear. We see the Docker Authorized Consulting Partner as new and added assurance of our skills and expertise in Docker technology and implementations. With Docker and Microsoft partnering to add support for Docker on Windows, we expect to see even more usage of Docker in the Enterprise, both in development and in production. We expect Docker to be a part of nearly every solution we will build by the end of 2016.”
Docker is an open platform for helping developers and systems administrators build, ship and run distributed applications anywhere. Organizations using Docker are able to ship applications faster and dynamically update and scale these applications while gaining seamless portability of applications across environments.
“With demonstrated Docker experience, Flux7 was a natural fit for the Docker Authorized Consulting Partners program,” said Alan Geary, Sr. Director of Partner and Alliance Sales. “We look forward to providing Flux7 with the guidance and expertise it needs to grow its thriving track record of designing, building and deploying the Docker platform.”
Docker Authorized Consulting Partners have experts on staff that have been trained by Docker to help customers when moving their applications into production with Docker’s products. Accredited consultants attend Docker’s certification courses to learn about the Docker Methodology and best practices to provide customers with a consistent approach globally when engaging a Docker Authorized Consulting Partner.
Flux7’s Docker consulting solution includes an assessment to understand how Docker can help an organization from a neutral, knowledgeable source as well as implementation assistance to avoid common missteps and speed deployment.
Flux7 helped Rent-A-Center, a public furniture and electronics rent-to-own company, implement Docker to host a brand new application in production. The solution led to developer productivity and reduced on-going management for operations. Rent-A-Center has embraced DevOps philosophy to reduce development cycle-time and improve collaboration between teams.
“By utilizing Docker in our infrastructure, we’ve been able to gain more autonomy for our developers, as well as a more flexible, scalable and portable environment that’s easy to replicate on-demand,” said Hemanth Jayaraman, Director of DevOps at Rent-A-Center. “The solution that Flux7 implemented for us ensures agility in our IT operations and development efforts, enabling us to focus on giving our customers a high-quality experience.”
