Achieving Security with Agility in the Cloud
Security and agility are often viewed as opposing forces. While there are new influences encouraging both dev and ops to build security in, security is all too often thought of as holding back progress rather than propelling it forward. Helping to shatter this myth, this paper will discuss why security and agility should be thought of like yin and yang – complementary ideas that are interconnected and support one another.
According to the 2019 NTT Security Risk:Value Report, 84% of business leader respondents say that strong cybersecurity is important to their organization, listing cyber-attacks, loss or theft of data, and cyber-attacks on critical infrastructure as three of their top five business risks. Yet, progress on cybersecurity has stalled. Static is not a desirable state in today’s environment where hackers are both agile and increasingly state-sponsored, which have spiked in the last year.
