So, if you are a techie trying to convince your boss to move to the cloud, well, you better speak the language your boss needs to hear.
How impressed do you think he will be when you say something like: “Hey Bob, I signed up for the free AWS tier and I found this cool VPC feature. We can select our IP range, create subnets, and a lot more cool stuff. We should probably think of moving to the cloud.”
To a non-techie decision-maker, this might sound something like: “Hey Bob, I signed up for the blah, blah, blah, and I found this cool blah, blah. We can select blah, blah, blah, … ”
Your expectation: Your boss understands the importance of VPC (which he should by the way!).
Actual Result: Duh!
While you might be a pro in using cloud services, make sure you know it well enough that you can convince your mom and kid to use it. Ok, your boss, mom and kid … either way, you better know your stuff!
